Beep!  Beep!  Beep!  Goes your alarm.

You’ve been having an awesome dream that involves Channing Tatum and and you’ve been dragged back to reality by the relentless buzz of your phone’s ‘wake me up’ app.

You have two choices…

1. Press snooze, snuggle under the covers and think of Magic Mike

2. Get out of bed and do some exercise

Which do you choose?

Throughout our day, we are faced with many, many, MANY similar dilemmas, some which are the easy option, and some which are much harder – but if we are motivated to achieve something, we will push ourselves to do it.

The trick though is being motivated.

If we don’t care whether we achieve our goal, we won’t be motivated to take the harder path.

It’s just the same in business…. we must make choices whether we want a business that pays the bills, or a business that makes us a healthy living whilst balancing a healthy lifestyle.

I blab on about social media, and emailing clients and writing blogs all the time – because I simply know it works.

I have countless clients that tell me ,”I use Facebook, I write blogs, I send emails.”

But digging a little deeper reveals they’ve not posted on Facebook in weeks, their blogs are irregular and they rarely email.

And so many other things work too – retail sales, customer feedback, entering awards, collaborations with other business, incentive schemes, direct mail, Facebook adverts, mail drops and so many other easy to do things.

But what I’m regularly told is it’s all too hard. It’s too confusing. I don’t want to have to do all the work.

And this is when you have to make a choice.

Do you want to be the business owner that is worried about bookings, selling cheap services and undervaluing yourself?

The one who panics when the wages have to be paid and worries about the credit card bill?

Or, do you want to be the business owner that buzzes because they have a great, strong business.

That can earn a good salary from doing something they love.  That can take time off, have financial security, have happy clients, maybe open a second salon or get some bigger premises.

There are those that do and those that don’t.

The choice is yours.
