For When You Want To Just Hide Under The Duvet

We all have those days where it’s all too much.

Where we feel if we hide under the duvet, it will all go away.

I feel like that sometimes and you probably do too.  In fact, most people who have their own businesses do.

Because it’s OVERWHELMING!

The thing is, you’re doing something special when you have your own business.  And though the rewards are plentiful – sometimes it can all get a bit too much.

The reason it overwhelms us is because its 24 hours a day.

When you work for someone else, you generally don’t need to worry too much about it when you hit the sofa every evening.

But when you’re the boss, days away from the business aren’t always filled with shopping and movies and cocktails, but accounts and marketing and orders and stocktakes.

You have to think about it all the time – and its always on your mind.

And, we all want to hide out occasionally and have someone take away the burden.

The thing is, this is partly why businesses fail over and over again.

It’s hard to have a successful business and its much easier to quit.

Empires are not built from here. Sorry.

Empires are not built from here. Sorry.

So here is my advice.

DON’T. DON’T QUIT.

If you are trying to get fit, it’s those incredibly hard few minutes of a run, or the last few burpees that KILL!

But its also when the magic happens – when you step out of your comfort zone and push for a different result.

And it’s the same in business – when it all feels hard, pushing that bit more is when magical things happen and it all starts to come together.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, try writing a list of everything you have on your mind.

Divide your list in to work, personal, family and health.

Take each worry and breakdown what’s involved, a possible solution and how important the issue is.

Label the most important things with an A, the not quite as important but pressing points with a B, the not too important issues with a C.

Re-order everything by ABC categories and get the most important issues at the top of your list.

Then, slap on some pink lipstick, a pair of heels and tackle them like the badass beauty business entrepreneur you are.

Get working on those As first as those are the ones which will drive your business forward.   Don’t spend your days stressing over Cs which probably won’t make much of difference anyway.

You can do this! I promise!
