The beauty business has, and always will be, an absolute hive of activity for bloggers.

Beauty blogs are amongst the most popular of all blog topics on the internet, and for those of us that work as professionals in the industry, blogging is a powerful tool.

A blog is widely regarded as essential for almost any type of website, however for many companies in many other industries the content may not come so easily; who wants to write (or read) about roadworks or double glazing!

You’d have to be a pretty creative writer to sparkle some glitter on that!

When your skills are in the arena of making people look and feel good, well, it opens up a huge opportunity – and field experts like you and I should be using blogs to educate others – a little like I’m doing right now, with this blog!

Why write a beauty blog

We know we should blog, buy why?

What does a blog do, exactly?

First and foremost – it build trust, status, respect and confidence with your readers.

I’m hoping you are reading this blog and thinking, ‘Yeah! Hollie knows her stuff!’

Apologies if you don’t think that!

I’m simply sharing what I have learnt through my experiences and passing some information to you – someone that may benefit from my experiences and maybe what I say will help you with one aspect of your business or your life.

Ultimately, you’ll feel that my knowledge is helpful and may continue to read more of my blogs if they are relevant and you’ll continue to flourish with a little help.

Now, YOUR clients will look to you to do the same.

To them you are the fountain of knowledge and they want to know about what you have to say!

Sharing experiences, stories, advice and your opinion can help you dramatically to build a relationship with people who may or may not know you – they can understand how you speak, what you’re passionate about and how you work.

The more information you provide which is of interest and relevance, then the more you’ll be viewed in their eyes as the expert.

The benefits of that being that you’ll receive less price resistance as well as becoming the natural choice when they require any of the products or services you offer.

Writing a beauty blog

You can write about anything you think your readers will like … and it’s fun!

And An Added Bonus

And it’s not only your clients who will love you more.

Indeed, your friend and mine, Google, is rather partial to a blog too.

Updated, recent and relevant content is loved by Google, especially if others are commenting and sharing the material.

When Google loves you then it ranks you higher when people search meaning you’re more likely to be found by people looking for the types of services you offer.

Hurrah!

What To Write About

You should aim to mix up your posts, and cover all topics relevant to your business.

You should also mix up the types of posts; videos, lists, interviews and ‘how to’ content should all be considered and rotated to keep things interesting for your readers.

Remember the Google will read your blog and serve it where it deems it appropriate, so ensure the language you use is similar to what people might be searching for.

For example a blog entitled ‘How To Do A Perfect Spray Tan’ may well be something that people search for quite regularly.
