A Confession About Disney thumbnail

OK, I confess.

I’m a HUGE Disney fan!

For me, Mickey and his friends represents more than an animated movie, or merchandise, or a theme park.  It’s a culture.

The greatest thing about Disney is it intoxicates so many of us, often without us even realising.

My obsession has spanned for more than 30 years – and I still adore the place as much as I did when I was 4 years old.

So what is it about Disney that makes me, a grown woman, turn into a little child? What is that makes it acceptable for a me to match sparkly Minnie ears with a designer handbag? And why is it I can absolutely justify forcing my husband to do the same?

I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris recently – I love it!

Disney is magic – and a little magic is what we all seek.

As we get older, so many wonderful things fade out of our lives and reality kicks in.

We realise our parents fill our stockings, not Santa.

We know if our teeth fall out then we’ve got a much bigger problems than “how much money will be under my pillow when I wake up.’

And we are quite aware that the Easter Bunny doesn’t indulge our chocolate obsession.

But with Disney, somehow, we can keep the magic alive. And that, for me at least, is worth its weight in gold.

I honesty believe that Disney has a few tricks up its sleeve that we can really learn form – because Disney and beauty really have a lot in common.

And thats why, my blog for the next few weeks will be all about what we, in The Beauty Industry, can learn from Mickey and friends.

My first video blog on Mickey et al you can watch here.
