How Disney Keep The Fantasy Alive – And Why You Should Too thumbnail

As I mentioned last week, I’m a big Disney Fan, and I want to talk about all the wonderful ways the world of Disney can make us better beauty businesses and, ultimately, more successful!  (You can read the previous blog here if you missed it).

Today I’m going to be talking about keeping the fantasy alive.

Disney has an exceptional way of keeping the fantasy alive for its guests – and takes huge amounts of care to make sure that every detail has the ultimate attention paid to it.

Disney takes huge care to hide what it doesn’t want you to see.

We all know that Cinderella is really just a pretty lady in a blue dress – but Disney will have us believe that it is ACTUALLY Cinderella – and we are happy to go with that idea.

But the fact is, that lady may smoke, drink, swear, have a boyfriend, really be a brunette – but we will never know, because if we see her, she’s Cinderella – and never ever will we see her in any other form.

A brunette you say! Surely not!

A brunette you say! Surely not!

Disney will keep that fantasy 100% at all times because they want us to have the Disney experience that we so desire – and that is something you as a beauty profession should be doing.

Putting this into action in YOUR business

When someone walks into your treatment room, they’ve bought into the experience.

They want to see the logistics of running a salon as much as I want to see Cinderella belch, and we should hide anything but the fantasy from our clients too.

When they walk into that treatment room, they wish to suspend reality – they want a moment when it’s all about them.

When all that matters is their relaxation and total indulgence.

So, next time you prepare a room for a clients arrival, take a look around and ask yourself – would Minnie be happy to come in here?

Is it made totally for the client’s pleasure?

If its not, its time to up your game and Disney up your treatment room!
