OK, so I haven’t re-invented the wheel by offering vouchers to my customers, but I now have it set up in such a way that it requires very little effort from me and generates me a lovely income.

I’d like to show you exactly how I’ve done this so that you can do the same in your business.

I confess, I have always had vouchers in my business – since I opened my doors back in 2009.

My designer who planned all my logos and price lists suggested them – and we always had the option for people to come in and buy a voucher for a value of their choice that could be given as a lovely gift.

And we sold a few.

I’d say probably £50 – £100 worth a month as an average.

So better than nothing but it wasn’t setting the world alight!

I realised though, that vouchers are a goldmine – particularly in our industry.

Why?  Well – here are a few amazing points about vouchers –

They make really amazing gifts – like, really amazing.

Pampering and hair and beauty are something so many people WON’T get for themselves – so when people buy them a voucher for a massage for example, it’s like someone is saying ‘hey, go have some time out… chill… You deserve it!’

It’s commonplace – now the likes of Groupon, Wowcher and Living Social have burst on to the scene, people have loved the opportunity snap up a voucher as a gift for someone they love.

It’s guaranteed business – when someone buys a voucher, they are investing in you and giving you their hard earned money!  And you have already secured that business – which takes the pressure off sourcing new business.

It brings in new customers – often, people buy a voucher for someone rather than themselves – and that person may be gifting that voucher to someone who hasn’t visited you before.

You’re getting opportunities to show how great you are, to brand new people.  Plus, that new person may bring a friend along too.

So, overall, I hope we can all agree, vouchers can make a great little addition to your business.  But what if we took it one step further and really went for it, I mean REALLY went for it…

Well by using a little website called Robovoucher I managed to add an additional £55,000 in gift voucher sales in 12 months.

Not bad, eh?
